Local’s Love Busch Gardens® Food & Wine Festival!

Local’s love Busch Gardens® Food & Wine Festival in Williamsburg! My wife and I get Busch Gardens® season passes, each year. We aren’t the only seniors that love Busch Gardens® – but we really LOVE it. We both enjoy Roller Coasters, specifically the Verboten and Apollo’s Chariot. We enjoy all the shows and adore Hallowscream in September and October. We went last week with our daughter and son and ended up winning not 1, but 3 great big hug Papa Smurfs. We piled all three of them into a Sky Ride and made all the ride technicians do a double take when we floated down from the sky. Yes, I am definitely a Busch Gardens® raving fan. And now….I am a huge fan of the Busch Gardens® Food & Wine Festival! Busch Gardens Food and Wine, Rolf Kramer, Real Estate AgentWhat IS the Busch Gardens® Food & Wine Festival? It is an event that runs every weekend until the end of June, Friday through Sunday. The kiosks sells small plates (between $3 – $7) in several countries. These specialty wines and dishes are not normally served at the park and are reserved for this month. A fact that I find amusing is that although it is Busch Gardens Europe…American Southwest, Canada, and the Caribbean are represented. To give you a Sample Menu: the Caribbean kiosk features Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Gamba Fritters, Hearts of Palm Salad, and Tres Leche con Mermelada de Pina.  YUM! The Countries Foods Represented:

  • American Southwest
  • Belgium
  • Canada
  • Caribbean
  • Coffee & Crepes
  • France
  • Germany
  • Greece
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Scandinavia
  • Scotland
  • Spain

Special Events include:

  • Wine on the Rhine – this cruise is a reservation only event that has waiters aboard serving you, as you float lazily along the Rhine River – there will be sampling of food, various wines & beers and live music. There is also a Date Night on the Rhine which we highly recommend – this is for ADULTS ONLY. Each cruise includes fruit, cheese, chocolate truffle and your choice of an alcoholic beverage.
  • The Art of Food™ – where ordinary food becomes extraordinary art. Demonstrations throughout each day of: pulled-sugar art, carved fruits and vegetables, beautifully decorated cakes and more. Find the demonstrations in Ireland, France and Italy.
  • Food & Wine Insider Tour – will offer sampling of foods and wines from around the world. You’ll get a tour of the entire park, with a personal tour guide. You’ll experience special presentations and savor the flavors of some of our main festival kiosks. Each tour is three hours.
  • Wine Tasting – savor the flavors of some of our delicious wines with a Italian, French, Enchanted, or Dessert Wine Tasting.  Each tasting receives a complimentary souvenir wine glass.

Last year we were lucky enough to attend the Preview – we got to taste all the food, on glass plates rubbing elbows with other locals with the same privilege. This year, we are playing tourist, sampling a kiosk or two, each weekend with our Busch Garden’s Season Pass. After I have hit all the kiosks, I will circle back and give you the skinny. For now, know that if you live in Williamsburg, you have a month to go eat your way through tastes around the world. And if you are considering moving to Williamsburg, now you’ll have another annual reason to: Busch Gardens® Food & Wine Festival.

If you have been – what have you tried and loved (I don’t want to miss anything truly spectacular!)?
